Max Rushden to host London Sport Awards 2020

TV, radio and podcast presenter Max Rushden has been named as host of the London Sport Awards 2020, supported by the City of London Corporation.

Rushden, who hosts the world’s biggest football podcast The Guardian Football Weekly, picks up the Awards' hosting baton from fellow sports broadcaster and 2019 host Jessica Creighton.

The fifth annual London Sport Awards is the biggest celebration of grassroots physical activity and sport in the capital and will see around 400 guests attend the glittering ceremony at the Guildhall.

Max is a regular TV, radio and podcast presenter, broadcasting on talkSPORT most weeks - usually hosting his own show, The Warm Up each Sunday morning.

The London Sport Awards host is also a regular on Optus Sports in Australia while this year has also seen him host the new football panel show on BT Sport 'Call Yourself A Fan.'

London Sport Awards 2020 host Max Rushden said:

“I’m really excited to be hosting the London Sport Awards and celebrating the incredible people and projects that make such a big difference in London.

“It’ll be great fun to be at the Guildhall with London Sport and, as a Londoner who is passionate about sport, I cannot wait to see everyone on the night."

Rachel Rowe, London Sport Event Manager, said:

“We’re thrilled to have an experienced and knowledgeable host in Max Rushden who will be an entertaining guide for our nominees, guests and VIPs at the London Sport Awards.

“Jessica gave huge energy to the London Sport Awards at Twickenham Stadium 12 months ago and we look forward to seeing Max bring his own unique style to what will be a hugely inspirational ceremony.”

There are limited numbers of general sale tickets still available for the London Sport Awards - be quick if you want to join Max and London Sport at the Guildhall on Friday 6 March. Tickets available here.
